Pashinyan's supporters stop their action near courthouses in Yerevan

The Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, has thanked his supporters, who reacted to his call to block courthouses, and called on them to stop the action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in response to Robert Kocharyan's release from custody, Nikol Pashinyan called to block courthouses. His supporters responded to the appeal and did not allow the court staff to start working today.

Later today, after a sitting at the government, Nikol Pashinyan addressed his supporters live on the Facebook urging them to unblock the courthouses; he also expressed gratitude to his supporters. "The today’s action has served its purpose: the process of forming an independent judiciary has become irreversible," the Premier has stated.

By 12:30 a.m. Moscow time, Pashinyan's supporters unlocked the building of the Constitutional Court, the Court of Appeal and all 12 Yerevan first-instance courts, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

At the sitting at the government, Mr Pashinyan said that the judiciary had exhausted the trust of the society, which perceives the judiciary as "the remnant of the previous corrupt system." The parliament should initiate the reform of the judiciary, the Premier has concluded.
