Azerbaijan and Turkey launch large-scale exercises

Azerbaijani and Turkish military servicemen have begun mastering joint combat operations, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported.

The Azerbaijani-Turkish tactical exercises "Mustafa Kemal Ataturk-2019" with live firing will last until May 3, the press service of the Azerbaijani MoD has reported.

The aim of the exercises is to improve the skills of conducting joint operations and exchange experiences among militaries of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the MoD has explained. The exercises are held in the territory of Azerbaijan, the "Interfax" reports.

Earlier, Azerbaijan and Turkey held joint exercises. Thus, on September 3-14, 2018, the "Falcon TurAz-2018" flight tactical exercises were held in Turkey.

The joint three-day exercises of armed forces of the two countries were held in May 2018 in the Turkish province of Kars. Azerbaijan sent a mechanized infantry company there.
