Investigation into attack on journalists in Kropotkin suspended

A preliminary investigation into a case on an attack in 2017 on a crew of Radio Liberty in the Krasnodar Territory was suspended due to the fact that no suspects had been found, Radio Liberty reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 28, 2017, as a result of an attack on a crew of Radio Liberty in the city of Kropotkin, one of two journalists was hospitalized with a broken rib. The equipment claimed stolen during the attack was found by the police in a hotel room where the journalists stayed.

The criminal case was instituted under the clause of robbery, but the investigation was suspended already in May 2017, without any notification for the victims, Radio Liberty reported on April 8.

Meanwhile, Radio Liberty noted that "the journalists had not been even questioned as victims."

Let us remind you that the journalists of Radio Liberty came to make a report about a protest action of farmers. A "tractor march" was to begin in the Cossack village of Kazanskaya on March 28, 2017. However, organizers announced the action would not be started.
