Militaries start shootout on Armenian-Azerbaijani border

Azerbaijani military servicemen have tried to bring their positions closer to the Armenian ones and opened fire in response to the warning, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated. In its turn, the Azerbaijani MoD refuted this information, announcing the death of its soldier in another section of the frontline.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that from the morning on March 25 to the morning on March 26, Azerbaijan counted 22 shelling attacks on its positions on the troops contact line.

On March 26 in the afternoon, Azerbaijani militaries tried to reduce the distance between the positions on the troops contact line in the vicinity of the village of Berdavan of the Tavush Region of Armenia, the press service of the Armenian MoD told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the source, warnings from the Armenian party were ignored. "In response, the opponent shelled the Armenian positions, but was suppressed by retaliatory fire and was forced to stop their engineering works. There were no Armenian casualties or victims," the source from the Armenian MoD has stated.

The Azerbaijani MoD has stated that this information "is not true."

Tonight, an Azerbaijani soldier, Ellez Ellezov, was killed in a shelling in the Fizuli section of the frontline, the MoD has stated.
