Statements of Kadyrov's security at tournament may entail public apologies

According to Caucasian traditions, a public insult entails a public apology. This was the comment of the ethnologist, Sergey Arutyunov, and the Orientalist, Akhmet Yarlykapov on the reaction of the head of Ramzan Kadyrov's security to the words of the Dagestan fighter, Rustam Kerimov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that social networks gave a strong reacted to the statements of Abuzaid Vismuradov, Kadyrov's security boss, after the lightweight weight title fight for the Akhmat Absolute Championship League on 16 March. A fighter from Dagestan, Rustam Kerimov, defeated the Chechen athlete, Abdul-Rakhman Dudaev. On March 17, on the Instagram, Vismuradov explained that his emotional statement was addressed not to Kerimov, but to the referee.

In the Caucasus, no one likes to apologize, but if the public insult was serious, then the apology should also be public, said Sergey Arutyunov, an ethnologist and a historian, adding that it is quite easy to insult a Caucasian, even unwillingly, by chance.

The way of apology for the words addressed to a Caucasian depends on the gravity of the insult; the factor of publicity is also important, Akhmet Yarlykapov also believes. According to his story, an offended person can initiate a duel.

If the insult was addressed to the referee, the organizers of the tournament and the Russian Union of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) must take action, although usually people from the audience present in the gym are not punished for their insulting words, Igor Ryazantsev, the editor-in-chief of the "Power TV", has stated.
