Armenia agrees to meeting of wounded Azerbaijani with his family

The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has expressed its readiness to ensure Alvin Ibragimov, detained at the border with Azerbaijan, to meet his relatives, guaranteeing their safety. The detainee was operated on after receiving his wound and is in satisfactory condition, Arman Tatoyan, the Armenian Ombudsman, wrote on his Facebook.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 16, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced the detention of a violator of the border with Azerbaijan. The man occurred to be a resident of the border area; militaries wounded him in the leg.

According to Mr Tatoyan, the detainee asked for a chance to meet his family.

The Ombudsman has added that the detainee is provided with a public defender and an interpreter.
