Scientists compare conservatism of Vainakhs and Dagestanis

Traditional relations in Dagestan are undermined much more than in Ingushetia and Chechnya, the researchers have stated. They have studied the commitment to traditional values among Ingushes and Chechens.

The scientists used the answers of 517 respondents, among them 255 Chechens, 237 Ingushes and 25 people calling themselves Vainakhs.

Almost unanimously, the respondents have supported the idea of free fair elections. Non-traditional Muslims in Dagestan are most sceptical of the elections. Vainakhs and Dagestanis demonstrate rejection of corruption.

The overwhelming majority of respondents are not ready to justify violence, but when assessing a specific situation, many of the support lynch law, especially Vainakhs.

The researchers point out that among Dagestanis, the destruction of generational hierarchies is significantly more pronounced than among Vainakhs.

All the religious groups of Vainakhs treat the religiosity, responsibility, diligence and tolerance as the main qualities that can be raised in children.

The scientists also believe that the traditional relations in Dagestan are undermined much more than in Ingushetia and Chechnya, while individualization is becoming a norm.
