About 1000 Russian and Abkhaz soldiers and officers hold joint military drills

Over a week, the "Nagvalou" and "Tsabal" training grounds hosted military exercises, which involved more than 1000 soldiers and officers from Abkhazia and Russia, the TASS quoted on December 17 the press service of the Southern Military District as reporting.

With the support of artillery and drones, motorized riflemen trained joint actions during an attack of a maneuver enemy in the mountains and in the Black Sea area, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.

The exercises involved more than 200 units of military and special vehicles, including the BTR-82AM, T-72B3 tanks, and KamAZ all-terrain vehicles, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to Vadim Astafiev, the chief of the press service for the Southern Military District.

During the exercises, Russian soldiers and officers conducted demonstration classes for the Abkhaz side, including demonstrating the evacuation of a maneuver wounded man from an armoured personnel carrier (BTR) and administering the first aid before the arrival of medical officers, Vadim Astafiev has reported.
