Actions against "UNM" Party held in Tbilisi

During the "No to the 'United National Movement'" actions, activists called on people to vote at the second round of the election for a candidate supported by the ruling "Georgian Dream-Democratic Movement" Party.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the first round of the presidential election in Georgia was held on October 28. Following its results, independent candidate Salome Zurabishvili, supported by the ruling party "Georgian Dream" Party, and Grigol Vashadze, a candidate from the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, are to run for presidency in the second round scheduled for November 28.

On November 25, the actions were held under the slogan: "No to the UNM!"

Irma Inashvili, the chair of the parliamentary faction of the "Alliance of Patriots", has stated that "a protest against the 'UNM' Party means protest against the methods of their government."

Besides, the activists also installed posters with portraits of prisoners who died in prisons in 2004-2018. According to the organizers of the actions, in 2004-2011, 330,000 citizens of Georgia stayed in prisons, and 52 of them were killed in custody.

The participants of the action called on the young people "not to allow the return of the regime of violence".
