NKR accuses Azerbaijan of 230 acts of shelling within a week

On September 23-29, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces made more than 3000 shots at the positions of the Defence Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), its Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported, with reference to the MoD of the NKR, that on September 26, during a shelling initiated by Azerbaijan, a soldier Agasi Mkrtchyan was killed.

"In the period from September 23 to the morning on September 29, the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone for more than 230 times. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired about 3000 shots from various small arms at the positions of the NKR's Defence Army," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent quotes the press service of the MoD of the NKR.

The MoD has stated that the NKR's Defence Army did not violate the ceasefire.

By 3:00 p.m. Moscow time, the Azerbaijani MoD placed no comments on the above statement on its website. However, the Azeri MoD regularly declares the shelling of its positions by Armenia and from the territories controlled by the NKR's authorities. During the last 24 hours, Azerbaijan registered 98 such cases.
