Dagestani wrestler disqualified after doping test

The Russian Wrestling Federation has disqualified Gadji Gamzatov, an athlete from Dagestan, who in 2018 became the European youth champion, for four years.

The decision was made on the basis of the conclusion of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).

The countdown of the four-year period of Gamzatov's disqualification begins from February 6, 2018, the RUSADA's website has reported.

The disqualification period covers Gamzatov's victory at the European Freestyle Youth Championships, held in the Macedonian capital Skopje in May this year, where he won gold in the weight category of up to 92 kilos by defeating his German counterpart Johan Mayer, the "Youth of Dagestan" reported on May 16.
