EU transfers three million euros to Armenia for refugees from Syria

Today, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has reported that the European Union has financed the integration of Syrian refugees in Armenia. Three million euros of assistance were raised by the European Union within the framework of the "Madad" Foundation.

The information about the provision of those funds have been announced at the first meeting of the EU-Armenia Partnership Council held in Brussels today, the Armenian MFA reports on its website.

Armenia is the third state in Europe in terms of the number of Syrian refugees accepted in relation to the country's population, the "Sputnik-Armenia" reports today with reference to the Armenian MFA.

In October 2017, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan reported that more than 22,000 refugees had been granted asylum in the country, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
