In Rostov-on-Don, most fire victims return home

On June 19, in Rostov-on-Don, more than 90 residents of a four-storey apartment building located near a fan zone of the FIFA World Cup were evacuated because of a fire. The fire area covered 400 square meters. Fire victims were temporarily accommodated at a school building.

The city administration reported that most of the tenants had already returned home. "Tenants have already been allowed to enter safe blocks, and one more block is in question," reported an official from the city administration as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

According to him, the special commission continues to work at the place of the incident.

It is not reported how many people were allowed to return to their apartments. Earlier, it has been reported that 189 people appealed for temporary shelter after the fire.

City Mayor Vitaly Kushnaryov has announced the fire victims will be granted a one-time help for their lost property in the amount of 50,000 roubles for each family.
