Activists of "Putin's Detachments" complain of pressure from authorities

In Krasnodar, five activists from the "Social Justice" Foundation and the movement "Putin's Detachments" are spending their fourth day on hunger strike in protest against frequent checks of the movement and the local authorities' attempts to close the Foundation. The hunger-strikers believe the local authorities underestimate the importance of support for the President by the "Putin's Detachments".

"Of course, it is young people who are on hunger strike. Our elderly members support us, but they do not participate in the hunger strike because of their age," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Marat Dinaev, the chairman of both organizations. According to him, starting from May 21, the hunger-strikers denied themselves food and drink only water.

On the first day of the hunger strike, the protesters recorded and posted in social networks an appeal to President Putin. However, no reaction still followed, reports Marat Dinaev.

According to him, agents of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes checked the "Putin's Detachments" five times in six years of the movement's existence. Their main claim is that the "Putin's Detachments" use their premises inappropriately, Marat Dinaev explains.

He believes that the activities of the "Putin's Detachments" for the support of the President is of national importance and the current government should support the movement.
