Karen Karapetyan appointed acting Prime Minister of Armenia

Karen Karapetyan, First Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, has chaired the government after the resignation of Serzh Sargsyan from the post of the Prime Minister.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, Karen Karapetyan has appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office with a request to recall a petition sent to the Parliament to deprive opposition MPs Nikol Pashinyan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sassoun Mikaelyan of their parliamentary immunity. After his release, Nikol Pashinyan met Karen Karapetyan. Immediately after their meeting, it became known that Serzh Sargsyan resigned from his post as the Prime Minister.

Karen Karapetyan was appointed the acting head of the Cabinet of Ministers, the TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Armenian government.
