Armenia's ruling party nominates Serzh Sargsyan to be Prime Minister

Participants of a meeting of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) have unanimously supported the nomination of Serzh Sargsyan for the post of the chair of the government. The oppositionists did not manage to hold a protest auto rally to the meeting place, since it was held ahead of schedule.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in accordance with the constitutional reform, the Prime Minister of Armenia, elected by the Parliament on April 17, will be the first person of the state.

The visiting session of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia was held in Tsakhkadzor. The congress participants unanimously supported the nomination of Serzh Sargsyan, the RPA's website reports.

The oppositionists wanted to hold a protest auto rally to Tsakhkadzor. They did not have enough time to do that, since the meeting scheduled for the evening was held earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by David Sanasaryan, a member of the initiative movement "Reject Serzh". "Opponents of Serzh Sargsyan are currently discussing their further actions," the activist noted.
