Mamed Gazgireev's relatives claim falsification of his case

Advocate of Mamed Gazgireev, sentenced to two years of imprisonment for possession of weapons, has filed complaints against the verdict. The decision of the court is based on falsified evidence, the defence believes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Mamed Gazgireev was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in a penal colony-settlement. He is also to pay a fine of 20,000 roubles.

The court pronounced the verdict against Mamed Gazgireev on April 11, and a complaint against the court's decision was filed on the other day, on April 12, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Djabrail Kuriev, an advocate of Mamed Gazgireev.

According to the advocate, no material submitted to the court could be recognized as legitimate and grounded, on the basis of which the court could issue such a verdict. "All materials were falsified, obtained with violation. All initial studies were conducted and dated July 19, while my client was detained on July 20," says the advocate.

Djabrail Kuriev has also said that the court did not present any significant evidence of the Mamed Gazgireev's guilt.
