Nurmagomedov is the first Russian UFC Champion

Khabib Nurmagomedov, a Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, a native of Dagestan, has won the champion title in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after he defeated Alexander Jay Iaquinta New York.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in November 2016, Nurmagomedov set a record in the number of consecutive victories in the UFC. He conducts his fights within the UFC system in the lightweight category.

After defeating Iaquinta, Khabib Nurmagomedov became the first Russian champion in the history of the UFC, after the referees unanimously awarded him a victory with a great advantage, the RBC has reported today.
