Petitions in support of Gamidov and Yusufov gain more than 1600 votes

A petition calling to release Abdusamad Gamidov, the chair of the Dagestani government, gained 908 signatures for a week. For the same period, 766 signatures were left under a petition in support of Rayudin Yusufov, Deputy of Abdusamad Gamidov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 6, in Moscow, the court pronounced the decision to take into custody acting Dagestani Prime Minister Abdusamad Gamidov, his deputies Shamil Isaev and Rayudin Yusufov, as well as Shakhabas Shakhov, former Minister for Public Education. They are charged with fraud exceeding 100 million roubles. The officials plead not guilty.

The petition calling to release Abdusamad Gamidov was published "a week ago" on the Change.org platform by user Andrei Petrov.

"[Gamidov] always adhered to the customs and traditions of the Republic of Dagestan. And what happens now? He was now simply disgraced and handcuffed, and they decided to put him behind the bars," wrote the author of the petition addressed to the FSB, the MIA, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), and the General Prosecutor's Office.

The petition in support of Rayudin Yusufov was also created "a week ago" by user Abdul Yusufov, who indicated Makhachkala as his place of residence. The author of the petition appeals to Vladimir Putin and asks "to take the case under personal control" and "to weigh up the current situation around the detention and arrest of Rayudin Yusufov."
