Resident of North Ossetia beaten by law enforcers, his father complains

Alan Chekhoev, a resident of Alagir, has complained that his 19-year-old son Oleg was severely beaten after his detention.

In his appeal addressed to North-Ossetian leader Vyacheslav Bitarov, Alan Chekhoev stated that on January 26, his 19-year-old son, suspected of robbery, voluntarily came to the law enforcement bodies. According to his father, Oleg Chekhoev was beaten and forced to confess yet another crime.

"For two days, they severely beaten him and sought his confession to a crime he had never committed. My son was frightened and signed a confession to the crime, namely, the theft of firearms from the Ambalov family," stated Alan Chekhoev in his appeal as quoted by the North-Ossetian edition "Abon" on January 29.

According to the man, four law enforcers beat the guy with truncheons and then released him under recognizance not to leave. Alan Chekhoev claims that after the release, his son vomited, and later Oleg was hospitalized, since doctors found blood in his urine, the "Abon" reports in Telegram channel.

Mikhail Skokov, Minister of Internal Affairs for North Ossetia, has appointed an official investigation into the Alan Chekhoev's appeal and took its progress under his control.
