Putin praises Kadyrov for returning women and children from Syria

The head of Chechnya should continue working towards returning Russian women and children from Syria, said Vladimir Putin. The authorities of Chechnya plan to return 150 Russian citizens more from Syria and Iraq.

Today, at his traditional annual press conference in Moscow, President Putin has noted that the work of bringing Russian children and women home from the conflict zone in the Middle East "is right and important," the Kremlin website says.

"They have returned 93 children and women," the TASS quotes Ziyad Sabsabi, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council's Committee on Foreign Affairs and the representative of the Chechen Parliament in the Federation Council, as specifying.

Let us note here that the information on the number of women and children returned from Syria and Iraq comes only from the Chechen authorities; the "Caucasian Knot" has no confirmation from other sources.
