More than 500 people come to exhibition of Sochi artists' paintings

On November 17, the Sochi Art Museum opened the exhibition which aroused great interest among city residents. A significant part of the paintings depict the city of Sochi and the nature of the Western Caucasus.

The exhibition dedicated to the City Day includes several expositions, which present paintings of old school artists, works of young members of the city branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, and student works. According to the organizers, more than 500 people visited the exhibition on the opening day.

The exhibition has gathered the paintings of more than 50 Sochi artists working in different styles. This is the first exhibition of such kind held in recent five years, reported Vladimir Zelenko, the leader of the local branch of the Union of Artists.

"The exhibition reflects all the treasures of the beautiful city of Sochi, including the sea, mountains, sky, and plants. The expositions are filled in with bright colours and inspiration," Vladimir Zelenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to artist Oleg Korchagin, residents of Sochi show great interest in the art of painting and study it with enthusiasm.
