Today, in Ingushetia, activists have gathered for a conference to mark the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the Ossetian-Ingush conflict. Ingushetia and North Ossetia held the official mourning events on October 30.

The active phase of the conflict lasted from October 31 to November 6. According to the Russian Prosecutor's Office, during that period, 583 people were killed and other 939 people were injured, while 261 people disappeared.

In the autumn of 1992, the Ossetian-Ingush armed conflict occurred in the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia, where people of both nationalities lived.

The conference in Ingushetia was reported by Magomed Mutsolgov, the leader of the Ingush human rights organization "Mashr", an author of a blog at the "Caucasian Knot".

"During that time, a whole generation has grown. And memories of those hard days still cause unbearable pain," said at the rally Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov as quoted by the "Interfax-South".

In North Ossetia, people paid tribute to the memory of the victims to the conflict in the village of Oktyabrskoe. Besides, the mourning events to mark the tragic events were held in Vladikavkaz.
