Akhmed Akhmedov detained by Dagestani law enforcers

Today, advocate Israfil Gadadov has found out that Akhmed Akhmedov, a specialist for Islamic medicine, is being kept at the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Kirov District of Makhachkala. According to him, he learned the above fact from policemen at a ROVD checkpoint. However, the advocate himself was not able to see his client, since the policemen did not allow him to visit Akhmed Akhmedov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that 43-year-old Akhmed Akhmedov, well-known in Dagestan as "Doctor Akhmad", stopped contacting his relatives and friends in the afternoon on September 24. The wife of Akhmed Akhmedov has suggested that being a follower of the Salafi trend of Islam, her husband could fell victim to law enforcers' provocations.

According to Israfil Gadadov, the ROVD has accepted an appeal in which the advocate requested to ensure the advocate's participation in case of investigative actions involving Akhmed Akhmedov.

Besides, in his appeal, Israfil Gadadov also requests to recognize the detention and testimony of Akhmed Akhmedov as illegal and unacceptable evidence, since they can be obtained under pressure and registered with the participation of an appointed advocate, the newspaper "Novoe Delo" reports.
