Over 700 Dagestani residents watch charity performance "The Dzhigit’s Birth"

On September 16-17, the Kumyk Theatre hosted a charity event in honour of the Kurban-Bayram holiday. The Dagestani "Nadezhda" (Hope) Foundation brought children from orphanages and low-income families to the performance.

According Timur Gadjizharaev, the head of the Foundation, the project is being implemented for the sixth year already on the theatre's stage. This year, the play "The Dzhigit’s Birth" based on the work of a Dagestani author was staged (Dzhigit is a Caucasian horseman, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”).

The “Nadezhda” Foundation is in close contact with republic’s orphanages and population social care centres, Sabrina Omarova, an employee of the Foundation, told the "Caucasian Knot".

According to her story, this year, over 700 children and adults have already watched the performance. The children’s transportation costs are born by the Foundation. Children also received gifts.

"Every year these events are getting better and better," said Shikhay Biyarslanov, Deputy Director of the complex population social servicing centre of the Karabudakhkent District.
