Alexander Lapshin's departure to Israel postponed

Alexander Lapshin will leave for Israel together with his mother, who is to arrive in Baku. This was reported by advocate Eduard Chernin. According to him, the blogger continues to receive medical treatment in the hospital, and his life is not in danger.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 11, the President of Azerbaijan signed an order to pardon Alexander Lapshin, sentenced on July 20 to three years of imprisonment on the charge of illegal crossing of the country's border. After his release from custody, Alexander Lapshin was hospitalized. His advocate reported that the blogger's departure to Israel was planned for September 12.

According to advocate Eduard Chernin, his client's departure from Azerbaijan to Israel will not take place today, like it has been planned earlier.

"Bella Lapshina, Alexander's mother, wants to come to Baku. They will leave together. So, we have to wait. Alexander Lapshin will leave to Israel in a day or two," Eduard Chernin told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the advocate, Alexander Lapshin stays in the Central Clinical Hospital of Baku, and his health state is estimated as normal.

On September 11, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan reported about the attempted suicide of Alexander Lapshin. According to the Penitentiary Service from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the blogger's suicide attempt was provoked by the delay of his extradition to Israel.
