Dagestani media report involvement of an official in fatal road accident

A road accident in Makhachkala, in which a woman had been killed, was not included in the operative bulletins prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), reported the media. According to them, a car was driven by an official. Videos from the place of the road fatal accident were posted on the Internet.

According to some reports, the road accident occurred on August 15, according to the others on August 19. However, the reports on the accident in appeared in the Dagestani media on August 21.

On August 15, the road accident occurred not far from the Sulak checkpoint of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS), the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft) reports with publication of a video from a surveillance camera. The video shows how in an almost empty road, a car at high speed moved to the oncoming lane, rammed a curb and hit a woman standing on the sidewalk. The victim died at the place, and she left three children, the "Chernovik" reports with reference to its source.

The car was driven by a top-ranking official from the Kirov District administration of Makhachkala, the newspaper said.

It should be noted that on August 19, the video from the place of the road accident was posted in the group "DTP05" in Instagram. An author of the video also wrote that the road accident was provoked by a local official.

The police of Dagestan and the "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Stavropol" have also confirmed that the road accident did take place.
