150 residents of Chechnya comprise first group of pilgrims

This evening, the first group of Chechen pilgrims leaves Grozny for Saudi Arabia.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed at the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) for the Chechen Republic that in total, 2600 residents of the republic will go to the Hajj to Mecca this year.

"Today, the first group of our 150 pilgrims is leaving for the Hajj. They will be taken from Grozny to the city of Aqaba in Jordan, from where they will be transported by land to Mecca. Tomorrow, the second group of 150 pilgrims will fly from Grozny to the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The transportation of our pilgrims to the Hajj will be finished on August 24," reported the Muftiate for the Chechen Republic.

Besides, the SAM has also noted that the authorities of Chechnya paid a trip for the Hajj for 150 pilgrims from among the poor in the republic.
