Killers choose deserted place to shell and kill Ingush police officer

An Ingush policeman was killed on a section of a road in North Ossetia, which is rarely crowded. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" by a source from the police. According to the source, several versions for motives of the killing are under investigation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of August 13, an armed attack was committed against a policeman from Ingushetia. The deputy commander of the independent battalion for the patrol-and-post service (known as PPS) of the mobile detachment at the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) drove a private car from the village of Verkhnie Achaluki to the city of Nazran in the Republic of Ingushetia together with his wife and four minor children. However, in the territory of North Ossetia, the car was shelled by unidentified people. The police officer died from the wounds he got, and his eight-year-old daughter was wounded.

The law enforcement agencies investigate a number of versions for the motives of the police officer's killing. Meanwhile, one of the versions is directly related to his professional activities. This was told on August 14 to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a police officer engaged in the investigation into the crime.

According to the police officer, the criminals used automatic weapons and fired at least nine times at the police car.

"The crime is unobvious. That is, the criminals chose for it a place which was extremely rarely crowded. So, the criminals minimized a number of possible eyewitnesses. Besides, at such a late hour, there is virtually no traffic on that section of the road," the police officer explained.
