Russian soldier dies in Armenia

On August 13, a contract soldier, who served at the Russian military base in Gyumri, drowned in Lake Sevan.

The deceased man is 20-year-old Radmir Filippov, reported the Investigating Committee of Armenia.

The soldier drowned when he together with his friends had a rest on Lake Sevan. His body was taken out of the water by rescuers, the "Interfax" reports with reference to the Investigating Committee of Armenia.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported about incidents with Russian soldiers in Armenia. On July 13, it was reported about the death of a border guard in the Syunik Region. According to investigators, he died from heart attack. In April, a body of a soldier with signs of violent death was discovered not far from the military base in Gyumri. A local resident was arrested on suspicion of the soldier's murder.
