Adyg school graduates still cannot get their school-leaving certificates because of scandal with golden medal

The secondary school No. 1 in the village of Takhtamukai, where an investigation into a report on illegal issuance of a gold medal to one of the senior schoolchildren is underway, has become the only school in Adygea where the issuance of school-leaving certificates has been delayed. Officials from the Adyg Ministry for Public Education have promised to issue school-leaving certificates on June 28.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 21, at the school leaving party in a secondary school of the Takhtamukai District, one of the medallists claimed that her classmate had undeservedly got a medal, since she was a daughter of an official from the education system agencies for the Takhtamukai District. Following the results of the investigation, the chief of the education department in the Takhtamukai District of Adygea was dismissed from her position for organizing a Unified State Examination (USE) at a point where her daughter was examined. The pedagogical board of the secondary school has withdrawn the medal at the request of the school-leaver herself.

Till present, school-leavers of the secondary school No. 1 of the Takhtamukai District have not yet got their school-leaving certificates. Meanwhile, today, Anzaur Kerashev, Minister for Public Education and Science for Adygea, has reported that the senior pupils will receive their school-leaving certificates on Wednesday, June 28.

According to the press service of the regional leader, the delay in issuing school-leaving certificates is explained by the investigation initiated by the leader of Adygea. An official of the press service has clarified that the special commission is engaged in examining an appeal of a school-leaving girl, who accused her classmate of undeserved receipt of a gold medal, the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" reports.
