Motorists solve problem with tachographs in KBR
Drivers of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) will no longer be fined for the absence of electronic tachographs, said the activists of the “Union of KBR’s Motorists” after their meeting with the leadership of the regional Ministry of Transports. The officials regretted that the decision on abolishing the "Platon" system is beyond their competence.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 27 the all-Russian protest action against the "Platon" system, which was supported by KBR’s drivers. On April 7, the protesters went home.
The authorities would not contact the protesters, the truckers of the KBR have stated, noting that they are ready to go out again to protest on the republic’s highways.
On April 19, KBR’s truckers continue participating in the action and await the authorities’ decision on abolishing the “Platon” system. This was announced by Alexander Tyutyulnikov, the deputy chairman of the public organization "Union of KBR’s Motorists".
According to his story, he is engaged in solving the problem of tachographs.
"A tachograph is an on-board control and measuring device, intended for recording such indicators like the time, truck speed and covered mileage, and the schedule of drivers’ work," Mr Tyutyulnikov has explained.
"Since 2016, drivers were obliged to equip their cars with electronic tachographs each of them costs 40,000 roubles; and drivers were fined for the absence of these devices... We went to courts and have won the trials," said Tyutyulnikov.
