Borlakov’s relatives accuse court of attempt to hide from them date of sentencing

The announcement of the verdict to the power agents, accused of the death of Murat Borlakov, a detained resident of Karachay-Cherkessia, failed once again; the prosecutor and the suffered party learned about it after they arrived in the court. Borlakov’s relatives are sure that the court is trying to pronounce the verdict without their presence.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Murat Borlakov died in the Ust-Djeguta ROVD (District Interior Division) on February 3, 2014, an hour after his detention. According to the testimony of the man, who was detained along with him, Borlakov was tortured. Five law enforcers figure in the case.

Earlier, the sentencing was scheduled for March 15, but failed. On March 23, the defence advocate learned from the state prosecutor that the sentencing was scheduled for March 24.

The judge is in every way preventing the presence of Borlakov’s relatives at the sentencing, said Soltan Borlakov, the casualty’s father. In his opinion, the judge wanted to do it "quietly."

Relatives have many claims to the way the trial was run, said Alimagomed Karaketov, a Murat’s uncle.

The date of the new session made known only at the last moment, said Pavel Misharin, another advocate.
