In Sochi, court obliges bank to return to war veteran Gennady Kuk money debited from his account by mistake
On March 23, Katerina Kalustova, the magistrate judge of the judicial district No. 92, summoned Gennady Kuk, a 90-year veteran of World War II, and announced that the money in the amount of 43,891 roubles earlier debited from his account at Sberbank in favour of Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Sochivodokanal" will be returned to his account within a week. The war veteran himself reminded that about 100,000 roubles disappeared from his account, and no one found out the fate of the remaining money.
Gennady Kuk appealed to the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot" in connection with the loss of his money and the refusal of the law enforcement bodies to investigate the incident.
About 44,000 roubles were debited under a court order in favour of the "Sochivodokanal". Meanwhile, the war veteran himself claims that he is not a user of the organization's services.
The war veteran states that after the publication in the "Caucasian Knot", "everything seemed to start working."
"We will do our best to secure that the old man can get his money back as soon as possible," said Natalia Puchkova, the assistant to Judge Katerina Kalustova.
However, Natalia Puchkova has failed to explain why the war veteran who had been looking for his money for a year had not been earlier notified that the money had been debited from his account under the court's decision for the debts he never had.
Besides, the war veteran has expressed his regret about the fact that the fate of more than 56,000 roubles, debited from his card by unidentified people, has not yet been clarified.
