In Yerevan, activists demand resignation of General Prosecutor
About 10 people continue their protest action in the capital of Armenia. Apart from their demand of resignation of the Minister of Justice in connection with the death of Arthur Sargsyan, the protestors have also voice an appeal to the authorities to dismiss the Armenian General Prosecutor.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 18, the activists failed to get from the authorities any answer to the demand to bury Arthur Sargsyan at the military pantheon "Yerablur". Participants of the march announced their intention to continue their sit-in demonstration.
On March 16, Yerevan residents held a march with the demand for the resignation of Arpine Ovannisyan and Levon Altunyan, Minister of Justice and Minister for Public Health, respectively.
At night of March 20, according to the participants of the protest action, about 30 people still stayed in Freedom Square to demand the resignations of Arpine Ovannisyan and Arthur Davtyan.
The government has not responded to the demand of citizens to bury Arthur Sargsyan at a military cemetery. The decision to bury Arthur Sargsyan at the Shaumyan cemetery was made by his brother, one of the protesters reports.
