Yerevan marchers promise to continue protest actions

Activists have failed to get a response from the authorities to their written demand to bury Arthur Sargsyan into the military pantheon "Yerablur". The marchers have stated that they will continue their sit-in demonstration.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Arthur Sargsyan died in a hospital on March 16 after a 25-day hunger strike, held by him in protest against his arrest. On March 17, activists demanded an authorities’ permit to bury him into the military cemetery.

No one from the government came out to the marchers. Activists tried to block the traffic in Republic Square, but the police used force and ousted them from the roadway.
