KChR’s SC cancels verdict to Arkelova
By the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), Leyla Arkelova, a mother of many children from Cherkessk, has been granted the right to rehabilitation. The SC has found that the actions of Arkelova, accused of slander, contained no crime elements.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Leyla Arkelova had worked for more than ten years as the chief state tax inspector of the inter-district inspection of the Federal Tax Service (known as the FNS). She was accused of slandering her boss Zulfiya Bostanova.
Now, the above SC has detailed the mistakes of earlier judgements on this case, said Andrei Sabinin, a member of the Human Rights Organization named "Agora".
The case of Leyla Arkelova should be stopped, said Yulia Danilina, an employee of the Office of the Russian Ombudsperson. According to her version, it is absurd to bring the person who had exercised her constitutional right, to criminal responsibility.
