Volgograd: tenants of collapsing multi-storey house complain about authorities’ inaction
The house No. 30 in Saushinskaya Street is collapsing; while the managing company and city authorities are idling, tenants of the house told the "Caucasian Knot".
The roof is leaking, since its repair was not finished; and the scaffoldings left by the managing company are at the house for two years, a tenant complained in an interview with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"They’ve built metal frames in toilets to prevent them from collapsing; however, the toilets don’t function," she has added.
The house capital repairs, interrupted in 2015, cannot restart due to lack of funding from the city budget, said an official of the managing company.
The situation with the house was taken under control of activists of the regional branch of the All-Russia People's Front (ARPF).
"In my opinion, we see here inaction of the Krasnoarmeyskiy District Administration. For two years, the house is in scaffoldings. Tenants say they had complained to various administrations. Only now, they began doing something; however, it's still unclear when the repairs to be resumed," Vladimir Kruchinin, an expert of the working group for housing services and urban development of the ARPF branch, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
