Krasnodar residents collect more than 270,000 roubles for victims of fire in "Musical residential district"
As of February 22, the amount of 272,000 roubles came to the special account opened by the Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Red Cross to help fire victims who lost their apartments because of a fire in Krasnodar.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 15, a fire occurred in a six-storey building in Prokofiev Street in Krasnodar. As a result of the fire, one person was killed, 25 apartments were burned, and other 24 apartments were damaged. 212 people were left homeless. The City Mayor's Office has announced that the fire victims will be moved from a hotel to rented apartments.
Employees of the Krasnodar Mayor's Office, municipal institutions and administrations of intra-city districts will transfer their one-day earnings in favour of the fire victims, the "Kommersant" reports with reference to City Mayor Evgeny Pervyshov.
In its building, the district administration of the Prikubansky District of Krasnodar continues receiving humanitarian aid for the fire victims.
After the fire, an official of the Prosecutor's Office for the Krasnodar Territory has claimed that the house in Prokofiev Street was built without any authorities' sanction. Veniamin Kondratiev, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, states that the responsibility for the fire is to be borne by a developer and "an official who has legalized the house."
A resident of Krasnodar was fined for organizing an unsanctioned rally of the fire victims.
