Krasnodar farmer-activist Volchenko report closure of case against him

Suspicions of bribe-giving have been lifted from Alexei Volchenko, the leader of the movement "Polite Farmers”. Now, he is a witness in a new criminal case, this time initiated against the alleged intermediary of a bribe transfer, said Volchenko and his advocate.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Alexei Volchenko was detained on February 15 within the case on giving a bribe to doctors for getting a medical certificate for his father. According to Volchenko, he agreed with the investigator, that he would meet the mediator, who had demanded a bribe for making a certificate; then, this mediator would be detained. However, in the end, Volchenko himself was detained, although he had given no money.

Today, at the Timashovsk Inter-District Division of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), Alexei was told that investigators have no claims against him; and a new case was initiated against the person, who had offered him to get a certificate for money, the activist told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Volchenko has explained that this decision was made after the MIA agents from the Kalinin District of the KrasnodarTerritory had confirmed to investigators that Volchenko had submitted an application about the bribe extortion to them, but it was not accepted.
