Nalchik Mayoralty uses CCTVs to combat vandals
Today, Nalchik has begun installing CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras in the Olympic Alley. Vandals have spoiled all the athletes’ nameplates in the alley; only one nameplate was torn off completely, said officials.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at in the Olympic Alley in Nalchik, unidentified vandals smashed the lights and ruined the athletes’ nameplates. The alley was opened on September 1, 2016.
According to the spokesperson from the Nalchik Mayoralty, the vandals "stripped the images of the country’s emblem and Olympic rings off the nameplates." He has also confirmed that the alley was attacked by vandals for the third time.
According to estimates of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, at least 10 nameplates were spoiled in the alley.
"The man who did this must have been in alcoholic or narcotic intoxication, there’s something wrong with his head," said Aslan Anaev, Deputy Minister of Sport of Kabardino-Balkaria.
In connection with the incident, employees of the Nalchik UVD (Interior Department) have stated an inquiry.
