Chechnya reopens investigation into suspected militants' case
The investigation into the case against Bekkhan Saraliev, a suspected member of an illegal armed formation (IAF), who allegedly persuaded a teenager to join militants in Syria, has been resumed at the request of the Prosecutor's Office.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in January, the Chechen Prosecutor's Office cancelled the investigator's decision to suspend the investigation into the criminal case against Bekkhan Saraliev. Chechen prosecutors revealed the "violation of the law in the investigator's actions during the preliminary investigation."
"Last February, Bekkhan Saraliev, a 21-year-old native of the town of Urus-Martan, who in 2015 stayed in Syria, persuaded a minor local resident to join an IAF". "According to the preliminary information, the teenager left for Syria and joined the ranks of the terrorist organization," reported the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.
According to the Chechen prosecutors, in February 2016, the teenager from Urus-Martan left the house and never came back. In last April, he was put on the wanted list.
