Developer of "Rostov-Arena" fined by 15.8 million roubles

The Moscow Arbitration Court has fined the Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) "Sports Engineering" Company under the lawsuit lodged by the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Territorial Development of the Rostov Region.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the decision to hold the World Football Cup-2018 in Russia was adopted in December 2010. In the south of the Russian Federation, matches will take place in three cities – Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don and Sochi. Rostov is creating a sports cluster with a key object being the "Rostov-Arena" Stadium. In November, the overall readiness of the stadium was estimated by the developer at 70%.

The lawsuit arrived in the court in summer of 2016. The claimant demanded from the developer to pay 15.8 million roubles as a penalty for delay in execution of works at the stadium. The FSUE "Sports Engineering" lodged a counterclaim for 375,000 roubles for the payment delay, the "RBC-Rostov" reports.

The court has satisfied both lawsuits. The FSUE and the Ministry may appeal against the decision within one month.
