Sapiyat Magomedova claims 3.5 million roubles for her criminal prosecution

The Dagestani lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova, who was accused of using violence against and insulting policemen, went to court claiming compensation for material damage and moral harm, suffered by her because of illegal prosecution. She also demanded to oblige the prosecutor to bring her an official apology on behalf of the state.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to Magomedova, on June 17, 2010, she was beaten by Khasavyurt policemen. The latter claimed that Magomedova herself attacked them. Cases were initiated against both parties, but then merged and closed. In December 2014, at the request of the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan, the investigation was reopened and then closed again.

On January 26, Magomedova filed a lawsuit to the Khasavyurt City Court. She said that the Russian Federation Ministry of Finance is the respondent.

According to her story, the criminal case was stopped only on December 30, 2014, for absence of corpus delicti.
