Stavropol student Rakhmet Kasaev arrested for disorderly conduct

The court has pronounced the decision to bring Rakhmet Kasaev, a fifth-year student of the StavropolMedicalAcademy, to administrative responsibility and arrest him for five days. His advocate believes the period of five days was required by law enforcers to prepare to charge Rakhmet Kasaev of drug trafficking.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 18, Rakhmet Kasaev was detained when he was going to pass an exam at the Stavropol Medical Academy. He is a fifth-year student. According to family members of Rakhmet Kasaev, law enforcers informed that they discovered drugs when they searched the student.

On January 19, the court held a visiting session at the police building and pronounced the decision to bring Rakhmet Kasaev to administrative responsibility for disorderly conduct with disobeying the police.

"Today (on January 19), we have filed a complaint to the Stavropol Regional Court against the decision to bring Rakhmet Kasaev to administrative responsibility," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Vitaly Zubenko, an advocate of the Stavropol Regional Bar Association.

The advocate believes that the administrative arrest is just a method to give law enforcers enough time to complete in easy manner the procedure to accuse Rakhmet Kasaev of drug trafficking.

According to Vitaly Zubenko, Rakhmet Kasaev, a native of the Stavropolvillage of Irgakly, told him that law enforcers offered him to cooperate with them and inform them about activities of his relatives, fellow villagers, and members of the Nogai community.
