Defence of Donchi-ool states they have grounds to sue law enforcers

Alexei Kozachek, the Public Prosecutor of the Tsentralny District of Sochi, has apologised to the pensioners Klara and Valentin Donchi-ool for their prosecution, said the advocate Anatoly Eroshenko. According to his version, the pensioners have all grounds to claim compensation for moral harm and material damage.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2016 the police closed the case against Donchi-ool pensioners, finding no corpus delicti in the actions of the couple, accused of illegal tree felling.

The pensioners themselves stated that they had fought for the preservation of greenery. The trees, which they cut last February illegally, according to investigators, had been killed more than three years before, as experts had established.

Klara Donchi-ool said she and her husband "feel bad after the suffered stress."

In their application of November 14, 2016, sent to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the pensioners reported that "the investigator had exceeded his powers" and complained about "false denunciation."
