Relatives of Azerbaijani rapper Jamal Ali released from police
Policemen have released the mother and four relatives of Jamal Ali, the author of the song criticizing the Azerbaijani authorities, after asking them to influence the rapper, so that he no longer admit insults. The musician himself has reported this.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reporting referring to Jamal Ali, who is in emigration in Germany, that his mother and several other relatives had been brought earlier today to the police station, where they were asked to delete from the Internet the Ali's song "Grandpa Monument" dedicated to the prosecution of activists Bairam Mamedov and Giyas Ibragimov.
Around 4:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. Moscow time) his mother and relatives were released from the Chief Police Department of Baku, where they were questioned for about four hours, Jamal Ali told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"Apart from my mother – Gyulshan Alieva, they took four other relatives to the police; they told my mother: 'Let your son expresses his opinion, but without insults; then we'll not bother you.' Then, they released my mother and relatives," said Jamal Ali.
