Chechen residents complain about disappearance of their relative

Alvi Khakimov, a 24-year-old resident of the village of Nikolayevskaya of the Naur District, disappeared on December 21, 2016. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a relative of the disappeared man.

"In the morning of December 21, Alvi Khakimov left for work and never came back. His mobile phone is switched off. Till present, we cannot get in touch with him or at least find out where he may be," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by one of the relatives of the disappeared man.

According to Alvi Khakimov's relatives, they posted reports about his disappearance and sent WhatsApp messages. Besides, they filed an appropriate complain to the law enforcement authorities.

"At first, we were looking for him on our own. We called our relatives, acquaintances, and friends, but no one was aware of anything. The police initially refused to accept our complaint. The policemen referred to the rule that in such cases it was necessary to wait for three days, since the disappeared person might come back. Now, the police have also launched the search for him," said a relative of Alvi Khakimov.
