Advocate expresses concerns over health state of "Sasna Tsrer"member

Oganes Arutyunyan, arrested in the case on the seizure of the building of the patrol-and post police service in Yerevan, was unable to appear at the recent three court hearings, since he did not realize the situation. On December 21, the court extended for two months the arrest of Oganes Arutyunyan without his presence. This was reported by Ayarpi Sargsyan, an advocate of the defendant.

The advocate has noted that Oganes Arutyunyan intended to attend the court hearing on December 21; however, he was unable to come because of health problems. According to the advocate, during her recent visits to her client, he was "sleeping or was in inadequate condition." "It seems that Oganes Arutyunyan is under the influence of some drugs," said the advocate.

"It seemed he was under the influence of psychotropic drugs or in a state of shock from pain. His behaviour was inadequate and strange. He did not understand what he was saying as if he was hallucinating," the advocate has explained.

According to Ayarpi Sargsyan, earlier, Oganes Arutyunyan has filed a written request to give him an opportunity to attend the court hearing on December 12. However, on that day, he "was unable to go into the courtroom." His "inadequate condition" was also noticed by the judge, and an appropriate record was included in the minutes, said the advocate. The court hearing was rescheduled for December 15; however, on that day, Oganes Arutyunyan also failed to appear at the courtroom.
