Armenian refugees from Aleppo report daily bombardments (+video)

Starting from May 2015, the money raised by the "Aleppo" charity organization has helped some 300 people to move from Syria to Armenia; it is planned to bring other 50 people there till the New Year. The Armenians who have arrived from Aleppo told that life in the city is awful because of everyday bombings.

In September 2016, governmental troops launched an offensive aimed to liberate the eastern part of Aleppo, the second largest city in Syria, controlled by militants; and Armenian districts occurred under intense shelling and bombing, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the Armenian community of Aleppo.

"In total, since the start of the armed conflict in Syria, about 150 ethnic Armenians were killed, over 180 others were wounded," said Manuel Keshishyan, a columnist of the Armenian-language newspaper "Gandzasar", published in Aleppo.

During the conflict in Syria, over a quarter of the 80,000-strong community of Syrian Armenians have moved to Armenia, the Diaspora Ministry of Armenia has reported.
